Cheaper by the Dozen 2
(PG-13)
KidView Rating: Supercool
Cheaper by the Dozen 2 is about a family with 12 children. Their daughter Lorraine (Hilary Duff) is graduating and about to move away to New York, and the parents think they are never going to have the family together again. The kids don’t really care. While they are looking through Lorraine’s stuff they find an old photo album. In the album they see a picture of summer vacations on the lake where they used to camp. The parents talk the children into going on a vacation again to the same place to get the family together. When they get to the camp house, it is pretty torn up but they bump into an old friend who invites them to a fancy party at the “club.” They show up in grubby clothes because they didn’t know how the lake has changed. Then they see another family who they would not call their friends, the Murtaughs. All the kids like each other but the dad’s don’t because they were rivals the last time they were there. The Murtaugh dad is obsessed with trying to have perfect kids. Soon the competitions begin with the dads doing crazy things to win.

I rate this movie supercool because it was funny seeing parents act like children. My favorite part was when the Bakers were eating lunch at the Murtaughs and the Baker’s dog ran under the table and destroyed the Murtaughs plates that were given to him by a king. The part I thought was inappropriate was when Mrs. Baker wore a shirt that Mrs. Murtaugh loaned her because her children spilled lemonade on her shirt. There was also a bad part with the dog jumping on Mrs. Murtaugh and doing really gross things. The good parts make you laugh. The lesson is that you should be able to talk to your parents about anything. The Murtaughs were really not perfect either. I think everybody over the age of four would enjoy this movie even though little kids might not get all of the parts. I recommend this movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
(PG)
KidView Rating: Supercool
The story begins with four kids named Lucy, Edmond, Suzy and Peter sent on a train by their mom to live with far off relatives. The kids are playing hide in seek in the new house and Lucy finds a wardrobe to hide in. When she goes to the back of the wardrobe she notices that she is actually walking on snow in a whole nother world. She meets a fawn, goes to his house to have tea and the fawn cries because he is doing something wrong. He is kidnapping her for the White Witch. Lucy makes it back safely to the house and tells her siblings about the wardrobe, but they don’t believe her. The next day, the four kids hop into the wardrobe to hide and find they are in Narnia. They meet a beaver who helps them but Edmond wanders off and becomes a prisoner of the witch. The beaver tells them the only one who can help them now is Aslan. The kids travel across the river made of ice to find him and they meet a Santa guy who gives them arrows and stuff that will heal anything. The ice starts melting. They meet wolves that try to kill them. The White Witch and Aslans people go to war.

The Lion, the Witch and the Warbrobe was an awesome movie! It was a lot like the book. They added a few parts but the rest was the same. I know this because I have read the book two times. Aslan symbolizes God because he dies on the stone and also leads the kids to believe in him like God does with us. Aslan is a lion who is powerful at times but also tender to his people. The White Witch is like Satan because she tempts people into following her. She looks gentle on the outside but isn’t that way on the inside. The story is about how the kids have an adventure in their life, which is kind of like what we do, having adventures in our life but believing in God. When bad things happen, things turn out peacefully because of Aslan. This movie has many great messages. One more thing, this movie did have some things that little kids might not like, like stabbings and instant scary things that jump out at you.

Chicken Little
(G)
KidView Rating: Okay
The movie Chicken Little is an action packed movie about a chicken, duck, pig and a fish. At the beginning of the movie, Chicken Little thinks a piece of sky falls on his head, but no one in town believes him including his own dad. Some time goes by, and Chicken Little wins a baseball game, which makes his dad very proud and wins his dad’s respect back. Right after this, another piece of sky falls, but this time his friends see it too. The fish is taken away by it and is led to an alien spaceship. Chicken Little and friends tell the town and ask for help but no one believes them, including Chicken Little’s dad. And so Chicken Little loses his dad’s respect again. The aliens return looking for their son and bring their whole army to destroy and threaten people. Chicken Little protects the alien kid and convinces his dad that they must return the kid to save the town.

I thought this movie wasn’t very good. I won’t recommend it and wouldn’t go see it again. I rate it “okay” but I’m not even sure it was that good. The main message of this movie is even if people don’t believe you, don’t give up on yourself or your friends because sometimes everything can seem hopeless but you got to hang on. Also Chicken Little had a hard life with his dad because his dad never believed him until he saw the aliens and apologized and helped his son to return the alien’s kid and save the team. Another message in the movie is not to be prideful. Foxy was good at everything, especially baseball so when Chicken Little won the game, Foxy said it was just luck and got very jealous showing that she had too much pride instead of being happy for Chicken Little.

Dreamer
(PG)
KidView Rating: Supercool
Dreamer is a story about a girl named Cale Crane who one day goes to work with her father. Her father trains horses for races. When Cale is at work with her father, she sees a horse named Sonya and she thinks this horse is very good at racing. During the horse race, Sonya has a terrible accident and breaks her leg. At first they think they are going to put her to sleep because she is hurt, but Cale is so upset that her father fights the owner of the horse and begs him not to put Sonya to sleep. Because he argues with the owner he gets fired. Cale and her father help the horse get better. Every night Cale sneaks out of her room and gives Sonya a popsicle. Later in the movie, Cale’s father gives the horse to her to own and be the manager. Sonya heals throughout the movie and becomes a great champion.

I rate this movie supercool. I like the movie because I learned a lot about horse racing and how much you can love horses. Cale is a strong girl who teaches adults a lot about trying hard for what you really want. If you love something, you shouldn’t give up. Cale’s father’s horse helpers are very funny. One of them is the horse jockey on Sonya in the big race. He had an accident years before on a horse and Cale inspires him to try and race again. This movie has only one bad word, the h-word. There are a few sad and scary parts. The worst is when Sonya breaks her leg. It is also sad when Sonya gets sold away from Cale. I think this is a really good family movie and would even be fine for young children to see.

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
(G)
KidView Rating: Supercool
The movie is very smashing! I give it a Supercool rating because it is so good. It is about Wallace and Grommet catching rabbits when the rabbits are trying to eat vegetables for the vegetable contest that everyone is trying to win to get the golden carrot. So, everyone is securely guarding their vegetable so that bunnies can’t get it. Wallace and Grommet are taking care of the bunnies that are all over their house. Then Wallace makes an invention that makes bunnies not like vegetables. Wallace sees if it works on a bunny named Hutch. It works! Wallace then hears that the “Were Rabbit” is out eating the all the vegetables. So Wallace and Grommet try to catch it. Then everyone complains about Wallace not catching it. But Wallace then thinks that Hutch is the Were Rabbit so he goes and talks to Lade Talkington in her secret garden.

Wallace tries to eat all the vegetables even though he hates veggies! But good thing Grommet is there to turn the water on and distract them so Wallace doesn’t do it. Why did he try to eat the vegetables? Then Wallace gets big rabbit ears, so Grommet tries to tell him that he is turning into the Were Rabbit. That means that he was and is still the Were Rabbit. Then Wallace says, “Now are you going to tell me that Hutch is turning into me?” Hutch is turning into Wallace because when Grommet put cheese out, Hutch eats it super fast! Kids should see this movie because they’re no bad words, it’s funny, and it teaches us to be kind to animals and not switch brains with bunnies! P.S. No animals were hurt during this film!

The Greatest Game Ever Played
(PG)
KidView Rating: Cool
The movie The Greatest Game Ever Played is about a boy that doesn’t have much money. He grows up as a caddy, a boy that carries golf supplies for golfers. The boy who is played by Shia Laboaf, grows up and finds out that he is really good at playing golf. The movie is from a long time ago, in the early 1900’s, and you were not allowed to play golf unless you had the money and your family had money and a good heritage. The golfers were snobby. His father never wanted him to play because he wanted to protect him from the snobs. Francis, the boy, is asked to play in a big time golf tournament. Even though his father doesn’t want him to, he accepts. Francis doesn’t have a caddy for the tournament until a funny little boy comes along. He helps Francis along in the tournament in many ways.

I rate this movie Cool because it is a little boring because most of the movie is on the golf course. It is a lot, a lot of playing golf!!!! The best part is Francis’ caddy. He is really funny. He likes to say “Easy Peesy Lemon Squeezy.” There is another character Harry who is a famous golfer and he inspired Francis when he was younger. This guy has bad dreams in the movie and they look like mean Abe Lincoln’s. This is scary and would bother a young child. It bothered me even though I’m not that young. There are also some bad words in the movie. I heard the D-word and the H-word. I think the movie is good, but you really need to like golf to really enjoy it.

Valiant
(G)
KidView Rating: Okay
Valiant is a movie about a pigeon who wants to be in the Royal Homing Pigeons. One day he sets off on a journey to another city to join. When he gets there, he meets a pigeon named Bugsee who likes to cheet in gambeling games. Two other birds find out that he is cheating. Write then, Valiant drops in on those two birds and introduces himself to Bugsee. Bugsee decides he wants to go with him to sign up for the Royal Homing Pigeons. The army officer puts them in a crate, and a guy comes and drives them to the training camp. While there he meets a nurse that he falls in love with. After a few days, they have to go into the army earlier than they thought. There mission is to take a secret message to the general. They set off and meet two mice that help them stay away from the falcons. The falcons capture his friend Bugsee and take him to his hiding spot where he was kept in a cage. Meanwhile Valiant is coming to try to rescue him.

The message in this movie is “it’s not the size of you but the size of your spirit,” meaning it’s only the size of your spirit that counts how brave and courageous you are. It doesn’t matter that Valiant is a little bird. I rate this movie okay cause it lacked many things like funnyness, making you exited to see the rest, etc.

Sky High
(PG)
KidView Rating: Supercool
Sky High is a story about a boy named Will Stronghold. His parents are the best superheroes in the world. In the first part of the movie, Will doesn’t have any powers at all. Then when they start school, their P.E. coach tests them to see if they are a sidekick or a hero. When it is Will’s turn, he still doesn’t have his powers so guess what he becomes? Yes, a sidekick. He becomes a sidekick along with four other kids. Then Will meets the prettiest girl in school, Gwen Gracen, who happens to be a senior. They start to date. After that a bully trips Will. When he trips he spills his lunch on his arch enemy, Warren Peace. When he starts to get up they start to fight and when Warren Peace is up on top of the table, Will lifts him up and he finds out he has super strength.

I thought this movie was awesome and everyone will like this movie. My favorite part was when they were at the dance and all the super heroes fought the sidekicks. I thought the movie was really, really funny. It didn’t have any bad language. It did have some fighting, but it was just a little violent. The fighting was when they were using their super powers like when Warren Peace threw fire. Fire was his super power. There was no blood. I thought the moral of the story was that know one is better than anyone, whether you are a super hero or a sidekick. At the end, everything turns out four the best. This is a movie I for sure want on DVD. This movie is supercool and I think it is great for the whole family.

Rebound
(PG)
KidView Rating: Cool
The movie Rebound is about a man who gets fired from coaching the best college b-ball team because he has temper problems. So, he has to find a new job. These kids on a basketball team write a note to hire him as a coach. The thing is this b-ball team stinks. There’s another problem. The principal thinks this is a bad idea so she has a mom watch him to make shure he doesn’t over-react. Of course right when he sees her he likes her. Oh, and by the way, the mom chosen to watch him is the mother of the best player. The mom isn’t so shure about him. After the first game he yells at them and says you can embarrass yourselves but not me. After a few lost games he starts coaching them for real because he realizes the only way for him to get his old job back is he has to start really coaching them and win! After winning a few more games, he notices a difference in how he acts and how people treat him. I am not going to tell you if he takes his old job back or if they win the championship.

One of the most interesting and biggest messages is at first Coach Roy was self-sentered, had temperes and in other words was kinda mean. But when he met the kids and got to know them, he was nice and didn’t have temper problems anymore. In this movie, there are some cuss words and a lot of smack talk. I rate this movie cool because it was a little boring in some parts but funny and cool in others. My favorite part in this movie is when the players won’t keep there arms up so he puts icy hot in there armpits and they keep there hands up!

Herbie: Fully Loaded
(G)
KidView Rating: Supercool
Herbie: Fully Loaded is about a girl named Maggie Payton, who just graduated from college. Her dad wants to buy her a car as a present for graduation. Instead of taking her to get a new car, he takes her to a junkyard where cars are being destroyed. Maggie finds Herbie and Herbie has a mind of his own, so Maggie buys Herbie. When everybody sees Herbie they start to laugh. But Herbie really wants to race and so Herbie drives them to a race track. At the race track they meet a real race car driver named Trip who thinks he is the best. But when Herbie embarrasses him in the street race, he gets a little crazy. So through the movie, you see Herbie get a lot more respect.

I thought Herbie was a supercool movie. The part I didn’t like was when Trip, the race car driver, is being rood to Herbie. My favorite part is when Herbie has a big crush on this yellow slug bug. Know matter how old your kids are, I think they will love this movie. My 5 year old sister loved the movie because I could hear her yelling, “go Herbie go!” There was nothing inappropriate except for one kiss. This movie is fun for the whole family. I also liked the way Herbie does a lot of tricks and believes in himself. This movie proves that women can also be just as good as men.

Howl's Moving Castle
(PG)
KidView Rating:
Lame
The movie Howls Moving Castle is not such a great movie. I only lasted 30 minutes in it, and then my dad and I left. They kept on talking about ripping peoples hearts out. Sick! The beggining starts out with a girl who works in a hat shop. Then she wants to go visit her friend on the way and gets stopped by soldiers. Then this guy comes up and uses this ring to make the soldiers go away. Then he starts to fly and she gets to her friends house. They talk for a little bit. Then she leaves, but when she gets home this witch comes in and casts a spell on her that makes her old. The next day she runs away and meets a scarecrow that can walk. It was kind of spooky and made me really nervous. That’s when I wanted to leave. I rate this movie lame, but I bet if I would of stayed it would have been superlame.

Note from Allie’s dad: Based on Allie’s review, a word of clarification is needed. There was nothing inappropriate or overtly scary about the first 30 minutes of this movie. It was rather slow paced, lost Allie’s interest and kept me wondering if something was going to happen that I would regret letting Allie see. But since we left early, we cannot speak to whether such an event occurred. The movie is very different and most appropriate for older children.

Madagascar
(PG)
KidView Rating: Cool
The movie Madagascar is about a lion, zebra, hippo, giraffe and three penguins that are in a zoo. The penguins want to escape because they hated the zoo and they heard about antartica. They dug a hole in the ground to escape the zoo. They dug the wrong way and ended up in the zebras cage. The zebra found out what they were doing. He started to wonder if he could do that. That night he wandered off into the night. His friend the lion noticed he was gone so they went to look for him. After a long time of searching they found him. When they found him so did the police. They were loaded on a ship in boxes so were the penguins. Of coarse the penguins wanted to go to antartica, so they knocked the crew out and started to drive. Of coarse penguins don’t know how to drive so the boxes fell into the water. They floated for a long time. Then the lion ended up on an island. After him was the giraffe then the hippo then the zebra. On the island they met these little things called lemurs. They became good friends.

My favorite part in the movie was when the lion is dreaming about steak and he accidently bites the zebra’s rear and the zebra yells “your biting my b-tt.” There is one cause word! I rate this movie cool because the starting of the movie was slow. The message in this movie is how much the lion, hippo, giraffe and zebra needed each other. The lion needed them cause they gave him support when he gave in and started to become a real lion. The zebra didn’t need them as much cause he was trying to work out there problems, but he just needed there friendship. The giraffe needed them cause they calm him down and for there support. The hippo needed them cause they calmed her down when she over reacted.

Kicking and Screaming

KidView Rating: Cool
Kicking and Screaming is about a dad named Phil and his son, Sam. Phil’s dad is the coach of a soccer team, and Sam is called a bench warmer so he doesn’t get to play a lot. Phil’s dad trades him to another soccer team, the Tigers, and they really aren’t that great until Phil gets Mr. Mike Didka, the coach of the Bears, to help. He comes to help toughen them up a little and then Phil starts to get a little obsessed about coaching. He makes himself a blue tiger sweat suit and tells the kids, “I want you to play dirty, but don’t get caught.”

I liked Kicking and Screaming, and I give it a Cool rating. It had a really good message, and it was that everyone should be treated fairly no matter how good they are. It did have some weird parts like a gross kid ate a worm. The movie said some bad words like the H-word and the A-word. And that is what I thought of the movie, Kicking and Screaming.

The movie The Pasyphire is about an army man that has a mission to protect some kids because a widow’s husband was shot. So she has to go and find a key that could open a safe that has a satilite disc that could mess up the way people talk to each other. He goes to the house and finds not just a kid but five! But he does have a lady to help him. The three children pour oil on the stairs because they don’t want the army man to stay there. Instead of the army man walking down the stairs, the lady that helped went down the stairs. Then after that she left.

After she leaves, he has to learn how to take care of the family, and the family learns their part to one of the messages in this movie, how to enteract with each other. The oldest boy (Seth) learns it’s okay to be different. The oldest girl (Zoe) learns it’s okay to talk about her dad. Nothing really stands out for the second oldest girl. I rate this movie supercool because it was entertaining and funny and also very creative.

Pooh's Heffalump Movie

KidView Rating: Cool
Poohs Halfalump Movie is about Pooh and his friends going on an adventure to find a mysterious halfalump. Pooh and his friends see footprints and think they are a halfalumps and Roo wants to go, but they say she is to young. The next day she goes secretly and goes into the forest where the halfalumps live and finds Lumpy the halfalump. They play together and Roo lets Lumpy be free. Roo leads Lumpy to the village. Lumpy doesn’t want to go but Roo convinces him, so he does. Pooh and his friends see Lumpy and set traps for him. Lumpy runs off scared into the forest. Roo runs after him and helps him out of the trap he is in and Roo explains it to everybody. Roo is flung into a pile of logs deep into the ground. Lumpy finds his mom and his mom helps Roo get out of the mess.

One of the messages in this movie is don’t jump to conclusions untill you know for shure. For example, when Pooh and his friends think Lumpy the halfalump is big and scary. But they find out that he is small, harmless and is scared of them. In the movie, there is a part when Roo wants to grow up faster but his mom is worried a lot. So secretly Roo sneaks out to catch a halfalump and he catches one. Everyone else does not catch one. The message in that is believe in yourself and you can accomplish your goal. This movie is exiting but only in some parts.

Racing Stripes
(PG)
KidView Rating: Supercool
Racing Stripes is about a girl who finds a zebra and keeps it as a pet. It grows into a grown zebra and has a desire to become a race horse. They lived on a farm rite next to the race track. The zebra always practised by racing the mailman. The reason he wanted to become a race horse was because everyday he saw the professional race horses race. The reason why his owner wouldn’t ride him was because a couple years ago his wife died when she fell off a horse. He stopped because of that. On the farm there were many animals, Tucker the horse, Goose the pelican (from New Jersey), two flys named Scuz and Buzz, a goat, a dog, and a zebra named Stripes. My favorite was the two flys who were rap flies. And once, they were on Stripes, pretending his stripes were piano keys, and they played “ebony and ivory.” The pelican had a funny ascent and was a hitman, meaning people would pay him to fly over things and people to poop on them. Most of the time he had poor aim and would miss, but one time he made it.

A big message in the movie was no matter what you look like or what people say about you always try your best. A few other messages that hook on to that one are never give up and go for your dreams. One more thing, they did say the d word a few times in the movie. I rate this movie supercool because it was very funny, exiting and intresting.

Christmas with the Kranks
(PG)
KidView Rating: Supercool

The movie Christmas with the Kranks is about skipping Christmas. The mom and dad are going to skip Christmas because there daughter wouldn’t be here for Christmas. So the mom and dad decided to go on a cruise. When they decided to skip Christmas it didn’t just mean Christmas morning but everything about Christmas! For example they didn’t put up frosty the snowman, they didn’t buy a christmas tree or christmas cards. The neighbors thought this was a dumb idea so they treated them harshely! They had been planning this cruise six weeks until they got a phone call from there daughter. She said she was coming home for Christmas! Blaire expected Christmas and her parents only have a few hours to get ready for Christmas. Thats where funny things happen. When the neighbors found out they all joined in and helped get ready for Blaires arrival.

Something I noticed even as a kid is that they used the D word and the H word and Gods name in vain. I do think that some parts only adults would understand. For example when Mr. Krank got a Botox injection. The message in this movie was to think about others before yourself. Another enportant part in this movie was to work together to get things done.

National Treasure is about a treasure that’s been in the family of the Gates for years. Ben is the man that’s looking for the treasure. On his way he meets a very pretty girl that helps him find the treasure. The adventure was scary when they showed the dead skelatons but that was only a few parts otherwise it was very fun.

My favorite part was when Ben Gates found the last clue wich led him to the mumy chamber. The message in this movie was no matter what other people say or think, believe in yourself to follow your dreams. My least favorite part in the movie was when they showed those dead skeletons that was discusting. I thought the clues were very cool and unique.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

Spongebob is about how they open up a new Krabby Shack 2. This green guy named Plankton tried to take over the world. He stole the secret recipe for the Krabby Patty and would make some buckets and once the people put them on they would start to worship him and be slaves. But first Plankton stoll the crown from King Neptune and put it in the Shell City gift shop. There was this freaky dude that wore a neckles with a knife on it. I think his name was Dennis. Dennis chased Spongebob and Patrick all the way to Shell City. He was trying to kill them because Plankton sent him to stop them from getting the crown at the Shell City gift shop.

The mane message in this movie was don’t let people look down on you. Just because your young doesn’t mean you can’t make some amazing things happen. For example Spongebob thought he couldn’t get King Neptune’s crown back. Neither did anybody else but he did. He got the crown back and got home in time. Otherwise it was just a fun movie to watch and enjoy. I hope you like the movie. Enjoy.

Okay
The movie The Poler Express is a movie about a train that goes to the North Pole. The train has many problomes on the way but still makes it in time for Christmes Eve. The story is about a boy (I don’t think they ever give his name) who got on that train. On the way many strange things happened but I will only tell you one. First one is when the boy met a girl the captian of the train took the girl to drive the train but the boy thought he was going to throw her off the train because she had lost her ticket. Later the boy found her ticket and climbed on top of the train to give it to her. He saw a light up in the distance so he tried to follow that light suddenly the light went out. Standing in front of him was a hobo. The boy and the hobo talked and ate. Finally the boy started off for the girl. Once he found the girl they went to the North Pole and they made it in time for the celebration where Santa Clause gave out the first presant.

I think this movie was boring at some parts and kind of funny. The message was to blieve in Santa, but there were also messages for each kid. The boys message was to blieve. The girls message was to lead. The other boys message was to learn. When they first go on the train the man punched two letters on there ticket. When they got back on the train, he punched the rest of the word onto the ticket. That showed them what they learned on the trip.

This made Mr. Incredebel sad, so he took a job where he could use his powers. He went to a island where there was a guy from Mr. Incredebel’s past. It was a little boy named Buddy, and he was all grown up. He had destroid all the Super Heroes except Mr. Incredebel. Mr. Incredebel was captured and the family had to come and save him.

The audience really liked this movie because they laughed allot. There were no scary parts. Here are some messages in this movie. First how little lies can turn into big problems. Mr. Incredebel lied to his wife. That little lie turned into a realy big mess. Another message is don’t let things keep you from being who you really are. The biggest message was no matter what happens, this family always sticks together. And that’s why I think this movie was incredebel! The rest is for you to figure out.
